How do I get my band, zine, artwork or other product distributed through Media Dissent?

Mail us a sample and we will purchase some wholesale or work on consignment. You can email us first to make sure it's something we would be interested in. See our Contact Page.

Will you come table at our event?

Yes, we would love to. We just need the details and advanced notice. If it's out of town do you have a place we can crash? Are we on the guest list? Do we need to bring our own table? Indoors or Outdoors? How many people do you expect?

Will you do trades?

We will trade with other labels, publishers, artists, etc. Email us a list of things you have to trade or send us a sample. If it's music please include a link to where we can hear the band.

What can I do in my local community?

The first thing we always tell people to do is start a study group. This way you learn what needs to be done and the best way to go about doing it without repeating the mistakes of the past.
Even if it's just you and one other person, you can grow from there.

Why did you change your name?

We chose the original name Green Chaos back in 2000 when we were un politicized young punks living in the San Bernardino forest. At the time Green Chaos to us just meant being a Tree Punk.
We chose to change the name because it misrepresented us. We do not want to be confused for primitivists and we do not promote chaos. We are trying to stop the chaos that the current system imposes on our lives.

Will you link to my website?

Email us the link and a short description. We keep our links to a minimum and only link sites that have been up for years. We do this because we can't check for broken links everyday and we want to be a legitimate resource.

Do you sell stencils?

Not yet, but we do offer free templates to make your own in our resource section.

Will you put an ad, blurb or interview in my zine?

Yes.

We have some ads you can download in our resource section and you can barrow from our about section. If there's more time let us know your due date and maybe we can do a custom ad.

For interviews just email us the questions and let us know when you need them by. It would be awesome if you could send us a copy of your zine. [mailing address]

Are you primitivists?

No. We are environmentalists but we are not anti-civilization.

Can we hang out?

Yes. If you're coming through town or you have a place for us to stay in your town hit us up.

Can I stay on your couch?

Maybe. We used to let anyone coming through crash on our couch, but it put us in a lot of bad situations.
We actually don't have a couch anymore, just floor space. In the end it's Elise's call.

GuideLines (these go for staying at anyone's house):

  1. Advanced notice is a must because chances are there is already someone on the couch.
  2. We need to know how long you are staying. (You must stick to it.)
  3. Feed yourself.
  4. Clean up after yourself and contribute to house work.
  5. Get up early and leave during the day time. You can't be in the house while we're gone.
  6. No drinking or smoking around the house.
  7. Shower once in a while.
  8. If you're not paying rent then you must be helping out with projects (In the community or with Media Dissent).
  9. Don't invite people over without asking first.
  10. Contribute toilet paper (even if you have to acquire it from a public restroom).
  11. Don't make noise late at night, people have work and school in the morning.
  12. Entertain yourself.

Follow those guidlines and you'll be invited back and recommended to friends.

Can I have a free shirt if I get a Media Dissent face tattoo?

Yes. Any Media Dissent tattoo is worthy of a free shirt.
Send us a photo, your mailing address and shirt size.
We'll post your photo on the site and give you mad props for life.
